Denette Mann, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S

Expert Mindful Self-Compassion Therapist

Denette Man is a licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist. She is also
certified in EMDR (which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Interestingly, Denette first earned a business degree and worked for Texas Instruments. However, she found that
her true calling was helping families and children. She earned her Masters in Counseling at University of North Texas in Denton.

Her office, DM Psychotherapy is in North Dallas where she serves children, adults and families. Occasionally in her
practice, she is accompanied by ‘Shaq’, a maltipoo therapy dog.

She has continued to advance her learning in the field of Mindfulness, including her achievement of becoming the
first Certified Teacher for Mindful Self-Compassion in the Dallas-Ft. Worth. Her certification is from the Center for
Mindful Self-Compassion, co-founded by Kristin Neff, Ph.D and Christopher Germer, Ph.D. Denette regularly speaks
to groups on a variety of topics such as Attachment, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Trauma, Mindfulness and
Mindful Self-Compassion.

Today Denette will help us better understand how we can reduce stress and be more productive by practicing
mindfulness.
